Every bathroom is different — these are honest ranges from our recent projects, not teaser prices. We quote fixed prices after a free consultation, so the number you agree is the number you pay.
What actually drives the cost
- Moving plumbing — keeping the toilet, basin and bath where they are saves real money; moving soil pipes costs it
- Tiling area and format — floor-to-ceiling tiling in large format porcelain costs more to buy and fit than half-height ceramic
- Sanitaryware and brassware tier — the spread between builder-merchant and premium European brands is wide; we stock both ends and tell you where the difference shows
- The state of what is underneath — old properties can hide surprises; a proper survey before quoting protects you from mid-job extras
- Underfloor heating, niches and glass — lovely, worth it, and each adds a known amount you can decide on up front
Where to spend, where to save
Spend on waterproofing, installation quality and the items you touch every day — brassware, the shower, the seat of the WC. Save on accessories you can upgrade later, and consider porcelain that mimics marble rather than the marble itself. A £12,000 bathroom fitted superbly beats an £18,000 bathroom fitted badly — every time, for decades.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a tiler charge per day in Hertfordshire?
Most local tilers work on day rates that vary with experience and the complexity of the job — large format and natural stone cost more to lay than standard ceramic. We price differently: a fixed quote for the whole project, agreed before work starts, so you are never counting the days.
How much does it cost to tile a bathroom?
It depends on the area tiled and the tile you choose. As part of a full renovation, tiling is typically a quarter to a third of the total project cost. Bring your room sizes into the showroom and we will give you a realistic figure on the spot.
Why do bathroom quotes vary so much?
Because they rarely price the same job. Cheaper quotes often exclude strip-out, waste, electrics or making good — the things that become “extras” later. Our quotes are fixed and itemised, so you can compare like for like.
Is a free consultation really free?
Yes — including the 3D design if you progress to a full design consultation. No hard sell, no obligation. Most people leave with a clearer budget even if they do not buy from us.
